The Twins have emerged stronger from their series victories against the Guardians and Athletics, having won both, bringing their record to 53-54 and making the American League more open than ever. Minnesota is just one game away from a wild card berth. After resting on Monday, the Twins will face the Royals, whom they will not only play through Thursday but also in a second series in August. This is especially timely for the Twins, as Kansas City appears to be out of playoff contention and will undoubtedly be positioned as sellers until the trade deadline.
In last Sunday's game, the Twins were winning 11-8, a game they started by taking a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning and a 6-0 lead in the bottom of the second; they were never behind on the scoreboard. Kody Clemens had a game with two triples, and Jeffers drove in three runs. Buxton went 0-for-5, and the Twins are hoping their superstar will have his first multi-hit game since returning from injury.
The Royals look like they have no chance this year, but they've had a strong finish to July; they haven't lost any of their last three series. Even so, it will likely be their first losing season since 2023.

Our Minnesota Twins vs Kansas City Royals Prediction
The Twins will entrust the first game of this crucial series to Taj Bradley, who has had a very solid year; his standout features are his great ability to locate pitches and find a rhythm on the mound. He has a 9-4 record this season and is coming off a strong performance against the Guards, a 7-inning game with only one ER.
Seth Lugo will start Tuesday's game for the Royals knowing he could be one of the next players traded. He already pitched against the Twins this year and Minnesota gave him 5 ER in 5 innings of play.
Our prediction for Twins vs Royals is: Twins ML.
