The Kansas City Royals (25-38, 10-21 Away) will try to make it two in a row today when they play the Minnesota Twins (29-35, 17-16 Home) in Game 2 of a four-game series. Fans can watch the game on Apple TV once it gets underway at 8:15 p.m. EST.

For the Royals, yesterday’s win was their second in a row and third in their last four games. Prior to that, they had lost six in a row. As for the Twins, Minnesota was on the verge of becoming a .500 team after beating the White Sox on May 26 to improve to 27-28. But they proceeded to lose seven of their next nine games, including their last two.

Minnesota is scheduled to turn to Zebby Matthews to start the day on the mound. Matthews is 1-3 in four starts with a 4.63 ERA and a 1.03 WHIP. His ERA jumped from 2.37 to 4.63 after giving up seven runs in 4 1/3 innings to the Pirates in his last start.

As for the Twins, Michael Wacha is set to get the start today. He has gone 4-3 in 12 starts with a 3.23 ERA and a 1.12 WHIP. Wacha didn’t do too hot in his last outing either (May 31 vs. Texas). In it, he gave up eight hits and six runs in five innings while striking out five and walking four.
