Los Angeles Dodgers vs Kansas City Royals Prediction & Picks - MLB

The Kansas City Royals look to avoid being swept tonight in Los Angeles by the Dodgers before they face the other LA team on the road beginning Friday.

The Royals took an early 3-0 lead on the Dodgers in game one only to see it erased 3 innings later. In the 7th, Kyle Isbel hit a 2-run home run to tie the game back up, but Freddie Freeman knocked in Shohei Ohtani on a single in the next half-inning, which would ultimately be the difference in the 6-5 Dodgers win. Edwin Diaz pitched a perfect 9th inning to pick up his 6th save of the season.

In game two, the Dodgers took a 3-1 lead heading into the 8th inning. The Royals rallied and scored 3 there to take a 4-3 lead. After a Mookie Betts RBI single in the 8th, the Dodgers were able to force extra innings. There, Max Muncy singled to deep center and Ohtani scored what would be the game-winning run. Blake Snell did not factor into the decision but pitched a solid 6 innings in the win.

Tonight, Eric Lauer will be tasked with trying to secure the sweep. He is coming off a rocky start in his last outing. He allowed 6 runs on 11 hits against the Cubs and picked up his 1st loss of the season.
