Chicago White Sox vs Kansas City Royals Prediction & Picks - MLB

It was an offensive explosion last night for the Chicago White Sox (42-38) in the opening game of their series with the Kansas City Royals (34-39). They finished the game with 22 runs on 23 hits. The Royals threw 8 different pitchers, none of whom completed 2 full innings.

In the win, nearly every member of the White Sox picked up a hit. Miguel Vargas, Tristan Peters, and Jacob Gonzalez combined to go 8-15 with 16 total RBIs. While the offense was the storyline, the White Sox's pitching was quietly strong. They held the Royals to just 4 total hits and 1 run. David Sandlin picked up his 2nd win of the season after going 6 innings of solid work.

For the Royals, it has been a stretch of games where they have either given up a load of runs or scored a big number of their own. They gave up 13 runs to the Rays in the game previous to this 22-run output by the White Sox. Just two games earlier, they were able to post 12 runs on the same Rays team. In a couple of games before that, they were in a battle with the Cardinals, which they lost 12-10. And just a couple before that, they put up 14 against the same Cardinals team.
