At first glance, the Orioles' first round of the playoffs doesn't seem too difficult when they face the Royals with home-field advantage. Plus, the Orioles beat the Royals in 4 of 6 regular-season games.

Burnes is the reliable ace that the Orioles will be banking on for Game 1, and he's been healthy all year. Burnes ultimately finished the season with a very good 32 starts, where he went 15-9, had a 2.92 ERA, struck out 181 and allowed 22 HRs. Burnes, however, has a bad last memory in the postseason as the Diamondbacks were able to score 4 runs in 4 innings off him when he was still pitching for the Brewers.

The Royals' season finale was not a good one, perhaps the fact that the Twins had an even worse August was the biggest contributor to the Royals being in the postseason. They are potentially dangerous, but only if they can shake off the recent dismal batting performance where only 2 of the last 10 games managed to score 10 runs or more.

Witt Jr. finished as the AL AVG leader with 332, he is, without a doubt, the piece on which the Royals will build their franchise in the next 5 years. It will be his first postseason, of which he is aware and declared that then they should "make the most of it."
