The National Women’s Soccer League will be back in action on Saturday night when KC Current hosts North Carolina Courage at CPKC Stadium. KC Current will be keen to continue their impressive run this year, which has seen them lose just once. They currently sit comfortably on top of the standings with 43 points, 12 points ahead of the second-placed Washington Spirit. It almost looks certain that they’ll top the standings this season.
North Carolina, meanwhile, will be keen to stun the hosts and improve their standings. Sean Nahas’ side is currently ninth in the standings with 21 points. That’s the same number of points as the eighth-placed Gotham FC, although North Carolina has an inferior goal difference. They couldn’t end their four-game winless run last weekend after sharing the spoils with Chicago Stars in the 3-3 thriller. Winning against the league leaders could turn around their form.
