Former UFC Featherweight champion Jose Aldo (32-9-0) will return to the Octagon on Saturday night when he faces Aiemann Zahabi (12-2-0) at UFC 315 inside the Bell Center in Montreal, Quebec. The No. 11-ranked fighter last fought in October 2024 against Mario Bautista, losing by a split decision. In a recent interview with ESPN MMA, the UFC legend said he was “pissed off” by the loss after failing to deliver that night. However, he is now ready to turn back the clock.
Aiemann Zahabi, meanwhile, comes into this matchup as an exciting underdog. The French-born Canadian is riding on a five-fight winning streak. He defeated Pedro Munhoz in November last year via a unanimous decision to continue his impressive run in the franchise. Interestingly, the 37-year-old is the only Canadian male professional in the UFC Fighter Rankings. This will be his first UFC debut in his hometown. He’ll be eager to ride on the home support.

Against the surging Zahabi, “The King of Rio” will be eager to bounce back from his split decision loss last month. The 38-year-old will be keen to prove to his fans that he still has a lot of fight left in the belly with a win over the well-trained Zahabi.
However, Zahabi, too, has no time to waste in the franchise, being 37 years of age. He has excellently turned his UFC career around since suffering back-to-back losses against Morales and Ramos. But while the Canadian’s rise in the division is commendable, Aldo’s superior fighting techniques and experience should give him an edge this weekend. We expect an intriguing fight with at least three rounds.
