The preliminary ice hockey rounds in the Olympic Games have ended, so the main group stage is ready to begin with its activities next Wednesday. With these goals in mind, all the qualified teams are expected to bring their best performances to increase their chances of directly getting into the quarterfinals, with Sweden being one of the favorites to compete for those spots in Group B.
With these expectations in mind, Sweden will play their first game against Italy, it not really being surprising that the Swedish squad is considered the absolute favorite to win this game. Most of this favoritism is based on their fantastic roster, as they count on Elias Lindholm, Filip Forsberg, Oliver Ekman-Larsson, and Rasmus Dahlin in their offense. Taking these projections into account, they should try to win their first game by a big margin, as they will compete with Finland for the first spot in Group B.
As for Italy, this competition is expected to be an opportunity for their young players to expose their skills, as none of them currently play in the NHL. Some of the Italian forwards to follow are Alessandro Segafredo and Marco Zanetti, youngsters who are expected to take advantage of this competition to increase their chances of being considered as prospects for the NHL or any other European leagues in the short term.

Our Sweden vs Italy Prediction
As can be seen, these teams have very opposite expectations in the current edition of the Winter Olympics; however, it will be interesting to see how Sweden will manage the pressure of literally playing on the road, as Italy is the host of the Games.
Summarizing, even though the fans will put big pressure on Sweden during the whole game, the Italian roster isn’t expected to have significant chances of winning this game. Therefore, the pick for Sweden – Italy is: Sweden ML & Over 6.5 Goals!
