MLS Cup is really starting to heat up. On Saturday evening, the Conference Finals begin. First up, we have the showdown in the east between Inter Miami and NYCFC. One of these two teams will make it through to the all-important MLS Cup Final. For the NYCFC boys, it's all about securing what would be a second MLS Cup Final appearance after they went all the way back in 2021, defeating the Portland Timbers to life the most coveted prize in US soccer. For Inter Miami, it's about reaching a first MLS Cup Final.
If the early odds are to be believed, then the visitors have a uphill battle here. The hosts, who have been superbly captained by the ever impressive Lionel Messi on this run to the Eastern Conference Final, have looked virtually unstoppable, so much so that they're strong favorites ahead of this clash. However, we did see the boys from the Bronx hold the hosts to a tie at this venue during the regular season, so let's be honest, Pascal Jansen's men are not without hope here.

Inter Miami - New York City: Form Analysis
In terms of recent form, it is very difficult to pick holes in the recent efforts of Inter Miami. Sure, they did lose to Nashville during the best-of-three series, but that was on the road. In front of a home crowd at Chase Stadium, the Herons have been unbelievably hard to face, winning each of their last four, scoring no less than 15 goals in the process. They've also won 11 of their last 12 in all competitions at home.
The visitors will also come into this game in decent form, losing only one of their last five in regulation time. What's more, we're talking about an NYCFC team that has won three straight road games, conceding only one game in the process. Such a run should given Jansen's men the confidence that they need to take on the mighty Herons.

Inter Miami & New York City Squad Analysis
Fortunately for home-team head coach Javier Mascherano, the likes of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Sergi Busquest and Jordi Alba are all fit and ready to go. Rodrigo de Paul and Tadeo Allende, both of whom have been key players this season, are also fit. The hosts are expected to be without the services of David Ruiz, who has been sidelined for a while due to a hamstring issue, while Ryan Sailor is also out with a knee problem, though neither of those absentees leave the hosts weakened.
NYCFC's Malachi Jones continues on the sidelines, while Keaton Parks is also still out, and that's a blow. Let's be honest, the visitors could definitely use the tenacity of the American midfielder right now. Another disappointment for Jansen to deal with is the injury to Andres Perea, who sustained a knock against Charlotte recently. He's reportedly struggling to make a comeback in time for this game. One final blow is the likely absence of forward Alonso Martinez, who also picked up a knock recently.

Using his pace and direct play, the young Argentine has been a constant goal threat, so much so that he looks too generously priced to score here at odds of +250.
Let's face it, Allende notched twice last time out, and has now scored five goals in four playoff games. Such form is so hard to ignore, especially with Messi dropping deeper and playing so creatively in the last few games. Allende is highly likely to get chances here, and given both his recent form and overall numbers this season, he's well worth betting on to notch for the third game in a row.
