The Brooklyn Nets will try to head into the Break on a three-game winning streak when they host the Indiana Pacers (14-40, 4-22 Away) tonight. Tipoff at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY, is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. EST, with coverage provided by NBA League Pass.
It has been a tough year for the Nets. However, things have been looking up over the last week, starting with a 127-113 home victory over the Washington Wizards last Saturday. That win stopped their latest losing streak at three games. Then, for just the fifth time this season, they did not follow the win with a loss, defeating the Chicago Bulls 123-115. A win tonight would give them just their second three-game winning streak of the year. But the Pacers, who have also struggled throughout the season, are not just going to lie down and give them the win. Playing back-to-back games is never ideal, and Indiana could be exhausted after taking the New York Knicks to overtime and winning, 137-134. That win stopped their latest losing streak at four games. A win over the Nets will be just the fifth time this season the Pacers have followed a win with another W, and their fifth road win.

Indiana should be tired after last night’s marathon vs. the Knicks, but I don’t see that advantage being enough for the Nets. Without Michael Porter Jr. in the lineup, I don’t trust the Nets to generate enough offense to win. However, these are two bad teams, so it is not like either can be trusted to do anything. But I can see the win over the Knicks giving the Pacers a feeling of momentum that will make them more competitive than expected in this game, if not lead them to a win.
