Both the Houston Rockets (22-13, 11-11 Away)and Sacramento Kings (8-30, 5-13 Home) will be looking to get back on the right side of the scoreboard when they face off Sunday night; the Rockets have lost their last two and the Kings their last seven. Tipoff is scheduled for 9 p.m. EST at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, CA, with coverage provided by NBA League Pass.
Houston is coming off a pair of road losses to the Portland Trail Blazers last week. They lost by one to the Trail Blazers Wednesday night, 103-102, and by six Friday night, 111-105. Kevin Durant led the way in both with 37 and 30 points, followed by Amen Thompson with 254 in each, but they didn’t receive a whole lot of help from the rest of the starting five (28 and 24 points combined). As for Sacramento, the Kings haven’t won a game since beating the Dallas Mavericks on December 27 last year, 113-107. Since then, they’ve lost by double digits in six of seven games and by 20+ in four and by 30+ in two. They fell to the Golden State Warriors on Friday, 137-103.
Injuries have played a part in Sacramento’s struggles, and they’ll be without Domantas Sabonis and Keegan Murray again today, along with Dennis Schroder (suspension). Tari Eason is listed as out for the Rockets, but Houston could be getting Alperen Sengun back today (GTD).

Houston has not been bringing its ‘A’ game lately, but there is still no reason to think they will lose to the Kings. However, 11 of Houston’s 13 losses have been on the road this season, and the Rockets are 3-7 ATS in their last ten games. There is nothing about Sacramento that suggests they can put up a fight, except for Houston’s inability to close out teams in recent weeks. With a spread this large, I just can’t trust the Rockets to cover.
