The Golden State Warriors are looking to maintain their perfect playoff record at Chase Center as they host the Houston Rockets in a pivotal Game 6 on Friday. Holding a 3-2 lead in the series, the Warriors have a strong opportunity to close things out at home, where they’ve been dominant all season. Despite a rough Game 5 showing, Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler III will be eager to bounce back after a lackluster performance that saw them combine for just 21 points on 22 shot attempts.
Golden State found itself in a deep hole early in Game 5, trailing by as many as 30 points in a game where Houston’s offense exploded. The Rockets scored 131 points, with all five starters finishing in double figures. Their ball movement, pace, and shooting were on point, and they went on an 18-0 run that effectively sealed the game before the third quarter had even ended. Houston shot over 55% from the floor and drained 43.3% of their threes, making it their best offensive game of the series.
Still, the series now shifts back to San Francisco, where the Warriors have been far more comfortable. With a 27-17 straight-up record at Chase Center this season, Golden State tends to rise to the occasion in front of their home crowd. Historically, they’ve responded well in elimination-type scenarios, especially after a disappointing performance.

Our Golden State Warriors vs Houston Rockets Prediction
While the Rockets have shown resilience and athleticism, especially on the glass—leading the league in both total rebound rate and offensive rebounding percentage—their youth and inexperience may be tested under playoff pressure. They’ve been outclassed at times by Golden State’s poise and execution in close games.
If the Warriors get off to a strong start, as they often do at home, the Rockets may find it difficult to keep pace in a high-scoring affair. Golden State’s stars are unlikely to have back-to-back poor performances, and the momentum shift back to the Bay Area could be decisive. Even so, Houston’s physicality and elite rebounding give them a chance to keep it close.
Regardless of the outcome, this series has provided a glimpse of the Rockets’ potential, while the Warriors continue their push toward another deep playoff run—possibly setting up a marquee showdown against the Minnesota Timberwolves and rising star Anthony Edwards. Our prediction for the Golden State Warriors vs. Houston Rockets: Warriors to win.
