Meanwhile, the Astros entered the 2024 MLB season with a lofty ambition of returning to the World Series after coming up short against the eventual champions Texas Rangers in a classic seven-game American League championship series. Unfortunately, the Astros fumbled right out of the gates as they found themselves at the bottom of AL West standings with a 6-14 slate.
