Houston (41-41) are winners of 8 of their last 9 games are facing the New York Mets (40-40) who have won 4 of their last 5 in game three of their series. After the Mets took game on 7-2 with the help of 3 homeruns from Alonso, Taylor, and McNeil. In game two, leading 6-1 early, the Astros held them scoreless the rest of the way while putting up 3 runs in the 4th, 3 runs in the 8th, and finally 2 runs in the 9th to seal the game. Starter, Framber Valdez, was charged for all 6 runs while reliever Seth Martinez grabbed his 3rd win of the season. Today, Shawn Dubin (1-1, 5.64) will be handed the ball to start for the Astros in what will be his 1st start. All his work has come out of the bullpen so we could see him for just a minimal amount of work in this one. The Mets will go with Luis Severino (5-2, 3.29) who bounced back nicely in his last start. After giving up 6 runs on 8 hits to the Rangers, Severino went 6 innings of shutout work against the Cubs where he picked up his 5th win of the season.
