The Houston Astros have struggled out of the gate this season and are currently just 7-16 on the year. They face the Cubs in their next series and are coming off back-to-back losing series to the Braves and Nationals. Spencer Arrighetti will get his 3rd start of the season here. He is 0-2 with an 11.57 ERA. He was tagged for 7 runs on just 3 innings in his season debut against the Royals. He faired a bit better against the Braves as he allowed just 2 runs on 4 innings. He will look to continue his improvement here against the Cubs. Jameson Taillon will face the Astros lineup with his 1.80 ERA. His only start of the season came against the Marlins on the 19th where he went 5 innings, allowed 1 earned and struck out 4 while walking no one. The Pitching for the Astros has been their downfall to this point. They are 28th in both opponents batting average and WHIP while also in 29th with a combined 5.10 ERA. That has ruined their strong hitting thus far. They are 3rd in the league with a combined .266 batting average.

The way the entire pitching staff, bullpen included, has performed to this point does not strike confidence in a bettor. The Cubs took the 1st game of the series Tuesday night 7-2. Astros’ starter, JP France gave up 5 runs on 5 innings. We don’t expect Arrighetti to figure things out here and fix his horrendous ERA. We like the Cubs to take this one and continue to batter the Astros pitching.
