The Orioles (14-15, 8-8 Home) will try to get back to .500 today when they host the Houston Astros (11-19, 3-11 Away) in Game Two of a three-game series at Oriole Park at Camden Yards in Baltimore, MD. Fans can follow the action on MLB.TV once the game gets underway at 6:35 p.m. EST.
Boston came into the series two games below .500 (13-15) after dropping two to the Boston Red Sox over the weekend. But they got back on track in Game One of this series on Tuesday with a 5-3 win over the visiting Astros. The Orioles took the lead with two runs in the bottom of the first and essentially never looked back. They stretched the lead out to 5-1 with a run in the seventh. Houston tacked on a pair in the eighth to make the final 5-3.
Baltimore will hand the ball to Chris Bassitt to start the day. Bassitt is 1-3 in five starts with a 6.75 ERA and 2.06 WHIP. He has had some issues with the Houston lineup in the past. In 125 at-bats, the Astros lineup has hit .288 against him with nine home runs and only 18 strikeouts.
As for Houston, the Astros will give Peter Lambert the ball. Lambert is 1-1 in two starts with a 3.27 ERA and a 1.27 WHIP. He blanked the Guardians in his last outing, throwing six innings of three-hit, shutout ball.

Houston has been terrible on the road, but the Orioles haven’t exactly been dominant at home, so that may not matter. Baltimore has been hitting well over the last week (.299) and averaged just under 5 runs per game (four games). Houston hit .263 and averaged just under four runs a game. But Bassitt has struggled against the Astros, and with how he has been pitching, could do so again today. Peter Lambert has only made two appearances this season, but is coming off an excellent outing vs. Cleveland.
I don’t know if I trust these offenses to go over the total or cover, but I like Lambert to control the Baltimore lineup and lead Houston to a rare road win.
