Beleaguered Bayern Munich travel to Heidenheim, as they attempt to keep the Bundesliga title race alive for one more week. Last week's 0-2 reverse to Dortmund has left Bayern 13 points behind leaders Leverkusen with just 7 games left to play. Barring an incredible end to the season, the league trophy will be leaving the Allianz Arena for the first time in 12 years. Prior to the Dortmund defeat, Bayern had been on a three game winning run, scoring 16 goals in the process, but any hopes of a late season surge have now been virtually extinguished.

Heidenheim are enjoying a more than satisfactory first season in the top flight. They sit comfortably in 11th position, having far exceeded most pre season expectations. That being said, they do seem to have run out of steam in recent weeks and have won just one game from their last 11. Despite that poor run, they are still scoring on a regular basis and have only failed to find the net twice in two of those 11 fixtures.
