The seventh game that is due to get underway at the 2026 World Cup will be contested by two relative minnows. Haiti and Scotland will clash at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, where two teams with very little World Cup experience will get down to business.
This will be the Haitians second appearance at the World Cup, their first in more than 50 years, which means that this is massive for everyone involved with the nation of Haiti. The Scots are slightly more experienced on the biggest stage, but they’ve not featured at the World Cup since 1998, so this is huge for them too.
Looking at the early lines ahead of this fixture, it’s easy to conclude that ‘Scotland to Score Over 1.5 Goals’ is a solid bet. This a sizable opportunity for the Tartan Army to make a winning start to what is a tough group, and as they arrive in fine scoring form, they’re likely to step on the gas against weak opposition.

Haiti - Scotland: Form Analysis
Defensive weakness cost Haiti in the final warm-up game, as Sébastien Migné’s men played some promising soccer at times against the Peruvians, especially in the first period, during which they took the lead thanks to a solid finish from Sunderland forward Wilson Isidor. Sadly, in the second half, when push came to shove, they came up massively short at the back, which is a worry given that they’re up against a Scottish attack that looked ravenous recently.
Following those two wins, the Tartan Army should take to the Gillette Stadium field feeling confident.
If the Scots were hoping to sharpen their offensive tools in their two warm-up games, then they certainly got what they wanted, with Steve Clarke’s men first hammering in four on their way to beating Curacao in commanding fashion. They followed that impressive display up with another strong display against Bolivia, again scoring four, this time keeping a clean sheet. Following those two wins, the Tartan Army should take to the Gillette Stadium field feeling confident.

Haiti & Scotland Squad Analysis
Haiti’s starting XI will mainly be made up of players who play their soccer on European shores, so we’re not exactly talking about part-timers, but we are talking about a squad that is largely devoid of top-level experience. There are a few exceptions, such as Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, who has played plenty of EPL soccer, as has Wilson Isidor. If Sébastien Migné’s men are to make any headway at this tournament, those two will likely need to deliver career-best efforts.
Napoli’s Scott McTominay is arguably Scotland’s most important player, though Aston Villa’s John McGinn also brings bags of top-level experience, as do Andy Robertson and Ryan Christie.
The Tartan Army will have much stronger foundations, with most of the starting side playing their club soccer in one of the big leagues, such as the English Premier League or Serie A. Napoli’s Scott McTominay arguably Scotland’s most important player, though Aston Villa’s John McGinn also brings bags of top-level experience, as do Andy Robertson and Ryan Christie. Torino forward Che Adams, who was in hot form last time out, is expected to start up top.

Our Haiti vs Scotland Prediction
The way in which the Haiti defense struggled to contain a fairly weak Peruvian team last time out tells us that they could really struggle to deal with an in-form Scottish offense. The current Scottish team has lots of offer going forward, including pace, power and creativity, and that's exactly why they've scored multiple goals in lots of their recent games, doing so in seven of their last nine.
Let's be real, Steve Clarke's men have scored multiple goals against better teams than Haiti, and following their strong offensive effort just a few days ago, they could (and probably should) be priced less generously to bag at least two here.
Our Haiti vs Scotland Pick: Scotland to Score Over 1.5 Goals.
