Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria will play fellow veteran Daniil Medvedev of Russia for the 12th time in Wednesday’s second-round battle at the 2025 Paris Masters.

Dimitrov made a triumphant return to the ATP Tour after scoring a straight-set victory over Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in the first round, 6-7, 6-1. The Bulgarian was sidelined for several months after pulling his pectoral muscle in his fourth-round match with Jannik Sinner at the 2025 Wimbledon Open. Dimitrov’s participation in the ATP 1000 Paris Masters did not generate much traction since no one knew how well he would recover from such a devastating injury. With his emphatic win over Perricard, Dimitrov is officially back and could play a big factor in this tournament.
After his second-round flameout in Vienna, Medvedev targets another deep campaign at the Paris Masters, a tournament he ruled in 2020. Medvedev is 6-1 in his last 7 indoor matches and picked up an indoor title two weeks ago at the 2025 Almaty Open. Medvedev is 9-3 in indoor matches in 2025. Medvedev advanced to the second round with a straight-set win over Jaume Munar of Spain 6-1, 6-3.
