The No. 9 Gonzaga Bulldogs (18-1, 6-0 WCC) will try to remain undefeated in conference play tonight when they take on the Seattle U Redhawks (13-6, 2-4 WCC). Tipoff for this WCC battle is scheduled for 10 p.m. EST at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, WA, with coverage on ESPN+.
Gonzaga’s one loss came against No. 7 Michigan on November 26 at home in an ugly blowout of a game, 101-61. They followed that up with a blowout of No. 18 Kentucky at home, 94-59. Heading into tonight’s game, they’ve won 11 in a row and have gotten off to a 6-0 start in conference play. Along with the win over No. 18 Kentucky, they have wins over No. 23 Creighton, No. 8 Alabama, and No. 25 UCLA. As for Seattle U, the Redhawks looked good in nonconference play, going 11-2, losing to Cal Poly (73-71) and UC Santa Barbara (74-71). But they have not gotten off to a great start in conference play, losing to San Francisco in their conference opener 67-59. They got a win over Washington State, but then lost three in a row, one to No. 7 Gonzaga (80-72 OT, Saint Mary’s (93-76), and Oregon State (68-55). They last played on Thursday and beat San Diego, 75-64.

It is hard to realistically imagine Seattle beating Gonzaga, but it is hard to overlook how well the Redhawks played against the Bulldogs in Spokane. They led 37-29 at the half but played well in the second half, sending the game to overtime at 65-65, where they were outscored 15-7. With that in mind, I think 13.5 points is a bit high for this spread. Seattle will keep it close enough to keep Gonzaga from covering.
