The Detroit Pistons (50-19) were dealt some tough news just a day ago when it was announced their star player and MVP candidate, Cade Cunningham, would be out for multiple weeks due to a collapsed lung. Cunningham was leading the Pistons in points and assists, which is something that will be hard for them to overcome in the short term. That said, they were able to win their 1st game without Cunningham just last night. The 117-95 win was also enough to cover the number against the lowly Washington Wizards. Now, the Pistons will need to make the quick turnaround from in Washington to a home matchup with the Golden State Warriors (33-36).
The Warriors understand the Pistons’ pain of losing a superstar. After losing Jimmy Butler for the season earlier this season, they have been without Steph Curry since the end of January and have gone just 6-13 during that time. Although they have not been winning games outright, they have done decent work against the spread. Like their opponents tonight, the Warriors’ most recent win came against the Wizards. They are currently in the final play-in spot for the playoffs, and with Steph set to return at the end of the month, maybe he can bring some magic to a playoff run for Golden State.

The Pistons, in a normal situation, would be backable, but coming off a road game just 24 hours prior, we feel safe backing the Warriors in this matchup.
