The Golden State Valkyries (25-10) visit the Chicago Sky (14-22) for a 2026 WNBA regular season matchup on Friday, August 21, at Wintrust Arena.
These two teams have split their two meetings this season. The Sky surprised the Valkyries with a low-scoring 69-63 victory back in May, then the Valkyries got their revenge via a recent dominant 91-71 win this month.
And of course, the Valkyries have the better overall form this year. They might be coming off a 77-66 loss to the Minnesota Lynx, but it's still a fact that they won six games prior to that loss.
Plus, Golden State is fully healthy and available at this point of the season. This will pose a challenge to a Sky squad that's missing several key cogs.
Speaking of the Sky, they've won back-to-back games, including a surprising 93-86 victory over the New York Liberty. Natasha Cloud had herself a night, producing a game-high 35 points on an efficient 61.9% clip from the field. She also stuffed the stat sheet with nine rebounds and six assists.
Still, Friday's rematch with the Valkyries will be difficult with three of their double-digit scorers out. Rickea Jackson, Skylar Diggins, and DiJonai Carrington will miss the game against the Valkyries.
