This was their second straight defeat, having lost 8-3 to the Twins on Thursday. These defeats now leave them third in the AL West, three games behind the Rangers.
Tampa Bay Rays, on the other side of the grass, will look to continue with their sizzling hot form. Their latest win was their ninth straight victory, extending their lead in the AL East to four games against the Yankees. They looked solid on Friday night, homering in a season-high eight straight games. It was an exciting night for Nick Fortes, who homered and hit a run-scoring double to lift the Bays past the Astros.
