Karen Khachanov of Russia will attempt to move into the fourth round of the 2025 Romes Masters as he squares up against Francesco Passaro of Italy on Sunday.

Khachanov advanced to the third round of the Romes Masters after hacking out a hard-earned 6-4 5-7 6-1 over Argentinian qualifier Roman Andres Burruchaga on Friday. Khachanov is aiming for consistent results on the tour fter bombing out in the third round of the 2025 Madrid Open several days following his semifinal stint at the Barcelona Open. Khachanov, who is 4-3 on clay this year, also lost in the first round of the Monte Carlo Masters to Daniil Medvedev 7-5 4-6 6-4.

Passaro made it to the third round after stunning former top-10 player Grigor Dimitrov 7-5 6-3. Despite coming off a grueling three-set battle against Chun Hsin Tseng of Taiwan 6-0 2-6 6-3, Passaro still had the stamina to outlast Dimitrov in an action-packed duel. Passaro won 83 percent of his first serves and broke Dimitrov four times while conceding only two service breaks.
