After briefly escaping the relegation zone, Fiorentina has fallen back into the red zone due to two very poor performances in their last two league games against Cagliari (1-2) and Napoli (2-1) last weekend. If we take into account their elimination in the round of 16 of the Italian Cup against Como (1-3) on January 27, the Viola are on a run of three consecutive defeats in their last three games. Mandragora's teammates (6 goals) will be looking to inflict a sixth defeat on Torino in their 12th away game in Serie A this weekend.
Torino, 13th in the overall standings, could see their lead over Fiorentina increase to six points if they lose at Artemio Franchi. The Turin club is struggling defensively, conceding 10 goals in their last four games. Baroni's men are going through a difficult spell, with five defeats in their last seven games. Toro are coming off two away defeats in the Italian league, against Atalanta (2-0) in Bergamo and Como (6-0) on January 24. The Turin side suffered their fifth defeat in seven games on Wednesday evening against Inter Milan (2-1) in the quarterfinals of the Italian Cup.
