Things are really starting to get serious at the final major of the 2025 season, that's for sure. On Monday afternoon, the second week of action begins, and we'll get things underway at Flushing Meadows with an intriguing showdown between Felix Auger-Aliassime and Andrey Rublev. The Canadian booked his place in the second week courtesy of a massive performance against world number three Alexander Zverev, whom he defeated in four sets. That excellent effort followed straight-set wins against Roman Safiullin and Billy Harris.
For Rublev, the previous round very nearly went awry, with the Russian struggling to dominate against a player ranked 173rd in the world, eventually getting the job done by three sets to two. That win followed a 3-1 success over American Tristan Boyer, and a straight-set win over young Croatian Dino Prizmic. It's probably fair to say that the former world number five hasn't been at his best at this tournament, and if he's to beat an in-shape Auger-Aliassime, he'll need to pull out more.

Our Felix Auger Aliassime vs Andrey Rublev Prediction
This is an interesting match and no result would be hugely surprising. However, looking at the early lines, it's hard not to side with the Canadian, who lets face it, created a much better impression by beating Alexander Zverev in four sets than Andrey Rublev did by beating a much lower-ranked player in five sets. Auger-Aliassime doesn't have an amazing record against Rublev, which is probably why he's not the favorite for this clash, but for my money, the confidence and momentum that he has following that huge win against the world number three counts for much more.
