There's Major League Soccer action at Toyota Stadium on Saturday evening, when FC Dallas will take on the Portland Timbers in front of a home crowd. This is an interesting game in that it puts together a team that has been rather busy over the last couple of weeks and a team that has had a nice rest and plenty of time to prepare for this fixture. The Dallas boys haven't been involved in the Leagues Cup, which is probably just as well as they likely needed some time to regroup following five defeats in seven games. Fortunately, when they last played at home, they won nicely, so we probably shouldn't be too surprised if we see a confident home team on Saturday.
The Timbers may also be confident. After all, Phil Neville's men haven't been too easy to beat of late. Sure, they lost on penalties to Club America in the Leagues Cup during the week, but they've now avoided defeat (in regulation time) in each of their last five. On a less positive note, they've won just one of their last six away games in MLS.
