After both participated in action-filled games last time out, Everton and Burnley come together at the Hill Dickinson Stadium this Tuesday for the first round of EPL midweek fixtures.

With a very good performance at St James’ Park, Everton were deserving of their 2-3 victory in their last game. They fought hard and made the most of their chances on the break. It will feel very nice for them to return to home turf with this win behind them.

In contrast, The Clarets were massively unfortunate last time out and will feel robbed. They were involved in a very dramatic game against Brentford, coming back from three-nil down to a tie, only to concede late on and have two very close disallowed goals. 

Thanks to their fantastic result, The Toffees have leaped up to 8th place, much to the envy of Burnley, who are really struggling to crawl out of the bottom three. Although, they shouldn’t rule themselves out too early, as some hope and fight could get them out of this mess.

With both sides looking very confident and strong offensively last time out, netting three goals each, it’s easy to see how they’ll carry this momentum with them into this next fixture. 

Everton failed to score in their last home game, which they’ll seek to rectify, but prior to this they hadn’t failed to score in their last five on the bounce, and not once this season have they failed to score in consecutive home games. And, we can’t ignore that their last home game was against Man United; this will be a much more comfortable meeting for The Toffees.
