Having gone out much earlier than she would've liked in Sao Paulo last week, Eva Lys goes in search of redemption in South Korea this week. The German has twice played at this event before, making it beyond the first round on both occasions, so she should fancy herself to get the better of a player who has struggled with injury in recent weeks. 

Looking at the early lines, Eva Lys stands out as a viable option. The German will have been disappointed to exit at the second-round stage in Brazil last week, but she's still arguably in better form than Gabriela Ruse, who only played five hard-court matches on the North American swing, which may well leave her far less prepared for this than a player who managed to get eight hard-court matches under her belt in North and South America.
