Emma Raducanu of Great Britain will battle Veronika Kudermetova of Russia for a spot in the round of 16 of the 2025 Italian Open.
Raducanu entered the third round following a smooth win over Jil Teichmann 6-2 6-2 in the second round. The Brit tennis star registered the dominant win by holding all her serves and breaking her Swiss opponent four times. Raducanu is eyeing a better finish in Rome after she got knocked over in the second round of Madrid Open by Marta Kostyuk of Ukraine 4-6 6-2 2-6.
Kudermetova grinded out a 7-6(5) 7-5 win over Amanda Anisimova of the United States to reach the third round of the 2025 Italian Open. The Russian, who will also try to improve on her third-round finish in Madrid, traded bombs and big plays with Anisimova but somehow found a way to score the most crucial points in the match and capture a hard-earned win.
