The Edmonton Oilers visit the Philadelphia Flyers on the first night of a back-to-back. It’s not a good place for the Oil to be, given that the Metropolitan Division is all above .500 at this point in the season. When you have a road trip like this one, you have to pick your spot.
And that’s when you’re healthy, which Edmonton is anything but. The Oil still have the 1-2 punch of Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, and as long as those two are on the ice, the Oilers can play with anyone. But the rest of the roster doesn’t generate much, as Edmonton scores less than two goals a game when neither is on the ice. With the Metro’s worst in Columbus up next, this could be a punt situation for the Oilers in Philly.
