Hockey fans are in for a midweek treat this Thursday when the Edmonton Oilers (7-6-4) head into Columbus to take on the Blue Jackets (8-7-1). This will be a rematch from just 3 days prior. In that previous matchup, Columbus blew a 3-1 lead as they headed into the 3rd period. Jack Roslovic needed less than a minute in overtime to score the game winning goal. Edmonton snapped a 3-game losing streak with this win and now will face Philadelphia on Wednesday prior to this rematch. For Columbus, they already bounced back with a tough shootout win over Seattle the following day. Now they get a longer break than Edmonton will to prepare for the rematch. Interesting to note, that in the previous matchup, there were many goals scored but there were not many shots on net. Stuart Skinner only saved 15 of the 19 shots he faced, while Jet Greaves of Columbus was able to stop 19 of the 24, he faced. This rematch could simply come down to which team puts more shots on the net.
