Pittsburgh Pirates vs Detroit Tigers Prediction & Picks - MLB

The Pirates will host the Detroit Tigers at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, PA, in the second game of a three-game series tonight. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:40 p.m. EST.

Paul Skenes came through for the Pirates last night, leading Pittsburgh to a 3-0 win over the visiting Tigers and ending the losing streak at three. Of course, the trick now will be to tack on another win and start a streak. To that end, the Pirates are starting Mitch Keller on the mound. Keller is 3-10 in 20 starts with a 3.48 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, and .237 OBA. He has not had his best stuff at home, however. In 12 home starts, Keller has gone 2-7 with a 3.89 ERA and .264 OBA. To stop the bleeding, the Tigers will start Casey Mize. Mize has gone 9-3 in 16 starts with a 3.15 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, and .251 OBA. He has been slightly better on the road than at home with a 3.08 road ERA (3.23 at home) with a 4-2 record in nine starts with a .262 OBA. Mize does not have a lot of experience against the Pirates, but in the 37 at-bats against him, Pittsburgh hit .270.
