The Twins improved their record to 5-6 and overtook the Tigers in the standings after defeating them 4-2 on Tuesday in a game that was an excellent pitching duel between Skubal and Bradley.

Surprisingly, it was Bradley who struck out 10 batters, more than the Cy Young Award winner, who, on the contrary, escaped having baserunners unscathed until they could no longer do so in the fifth inning, when they allowed all four of Minnesota's runs.

As for the Twins' bats, they hit comfortably all night and made solid contact against Skubal, knocking him from the mound before the fifth inning. In the key inning, Buxton and Martin drew excellent walks, followed by an RBI single from Keaschall later on.

These are now two outs in the first two games of the four-game series in which the Tigers' starting pitching has been unable to dominate the Twins' lineup. But it could very well be Valdez, with his 1-0 record and 0.75 ERA in 12 innings pitched, who can change things.
