The Kansas City Royals and the Detroit Tigers begin a 3-game series this evening in Kansas City. Two teams heading in opposite directions will have an interesting pitching matchup to kick things off.
Troy Melton will start for the Tigers tonight. He is 7-1 with an incredible 1.49 ERA on the season. He has allowed just 1 run over his last 24.1 innings pitched. He has arguably been the most dominant pitcher in the last month. Now, he faces a Royals team that has been rolling.
The Royals have won 5 straight games, including a recent 4-game sweep of the Athletics. They have scored 31 runs over those 4 games, but will not have an easy time keeping the scoring going against the stingy Melton. Noah Cameron will start for the Royals in this one and is coming off an impressive complete-game shutout against the Angels in his last outing. He allowed just 1 hit and struck out 8 while picking up his 7th win of the season.
With both teams' starting pitchers looking strong lately, it will likely come down to which team can manufacture enough runs to sneak out the victory here in game one of the series.

We love this pitching matchup tonight. As long as each starter can give them 7-8 innings, the under should come home with relative ease. Kansas City is 22nd in the league in total runs which does not bode well for them against Melton who has been magnificent recently. And for the Tigers, they are just 16th in combined batting average. They will have a hard time getting to Cameron as well. Give us the under here in game one.
