Kansas City Royals vs Detroit Tigers Prediction & Picks - MLB

The Detroit Tigers (18-20, 6-14) will kick off a weekend series on the road vs. the Royals in Kansas City, MO, tonight at Kaufman Stadium. First Pitch for this contest is scheduled for 7:40 p.m. EST with coverage provided by MLB.TV.

Detroit will hope to turn things around after losing four of six on its last homestand, including a sweep by the Boston Red Sox. In the losses, they were outscored 24-11, but in the wins, they outscored their opponents 12-2.  But the Royals will also be looking to get things turned around after losing their last two to the Cleveland Guardians.

Keider Montero is scheduled to get the start for the Tigers. Montero is 2-2 in six starts with a 3.48 ERA and a 1.01 WHIP. He had one of his better outings of the season, his last time out, lasting 6 2/3 innings against the Texas Rangers, giving up five hits and two walks while surrendering one earned run and striking out two.

As for the Royals, Kris Bubic will get the ball to start the day on the mound for KC. Bubic is 3-1 in seven starts with a 3.32 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP. He went seven innings in his last outing (May 3 vs. Seattle), giving up four hits and two walks while allowing one earned run and striking out seven.
