The Detroit Tigers (40-48 SU, 39-49 ATS) look to try to get back on track by winning their series with the Cincinnati Reds (42-46 SU, 48-40 ATS). The Tigers have failed to win seven of their past eight series, only beating the White Sox in that stretch. Detroit hasn't been swept in most of these series, as they won a game in all but the series against Atlanta, but the Tigers also haven't managed to play with any consistency.
The Tigers' biggest issue is their pitching and defense. Over their past nine games, Detroit has allowed at least four runs on eight occasions. Tarik Skubal and Casey Mize have mostly been reliable, but the bullpen hasn't gotten the job done. And with the Tigers set to throw a bullpen game, Detroit's consistency issues will likely pop up again.
