Manager Will Venable admitted how tough the loss was in Friday's game against the Tigers, a game they led 8-2 but ultimately lost in a crucial eighth inning when the bullpen collapsed and the Tigers, with home runs from Lee and Greene and an RBI single from Dingler, completed the comeback.
Lee had a phenomenal game and truly silenced the 26,000 fans at Rate Field. He went 4-for-5 with three RBIs and two runs scored. For the White Sox, Tristan Peters left the game after colliding with the wall on a triple. Montgomery went 2-for-4, but struck out twice and is on pace to break the single-season strikeout record with 213, a feat he'll desperately want to avoid.
