The Detroit Red Wings will make their final stop on a four-game road trip on Saturday, facing the Dallas Stars at American Airlines Center.
The Red Wings started the trip by defeating the New Jersey Devils, but they will travel to Texas after suffering back-to-back losses against the Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning. Todd McLellan’s team has also recently taken a couple of bad injury blows, with Dylan Larkin and Andrew Copp both ruled out for two weeks.
McLellan must now find a winning formula without his top two centers. J.T. Comper and Marco Kasper have moved up in the lineup and are expected to raise their level of play in the coming weeks.
Dallas has also lost key players to injury, with Mikko Rantanen and Roope Hintz out, but the team has coped well. Even without the Finnish stars, Dallas picked apart the Edmonton Oilers 7-2 on Thursday night.
The Stars boast a 13-0-1 record across their last 14 games and have begun to compete with the Colorado Avalanche for the Central Division title and the Presidents’ Trophy. On Saturday, the team will look for its fourth consecutive win against a side that’s won just four games in total since February.
