The Knicks earned the No.3 seed in the East after finishing their regular-season campaign with a 51-31 record. New York has a top-heavy starting five led by All-Star Karl Anthony Towns and Jalen Brunson. However, their depth has been under scrutiny all season long, along with their inability to consistently produce wins over top-tier opponents.
The Pistons returned to the postseason for the first time since 2019. Detroit’s resurgence this season is credited to the emergence of Cade Cunningham as a bona fide star and an outstanding defense that had ranked inside the top-10 throughout the season.
