This second round Western Conference semifinals series between the fourth-seeded Denver Nuggets and top-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder will continue on Wednesday night with Game 2. Denver enters this game with a surprising 1-0 series lead after coming back to beat the Thunder in Game 1 by a score of 121-119. The Nuggets were extremely well balanced in this game, with four of their five starters scoring in double figures.
The leading scorer for Denver was no other than Nikola Jokic, who posted a game-high 42 points, while also grabbing 22 rebounds. Despite Jokic’s amazing performance, it was Aaron Gordon who was the hero in Game 1, as his go-ahead three-pointer sealed the upset win for the Nuggets with just seconds left on the clock.

The point spread is head-scratching for Game 2 as the Thunder just lost Game 1 as a double-digit favorite and now find themselves as a double-digit favorite in Game 2. The Thunder will no doubt be out to make amends for their Game 1 collapse, but as Denver showed on Monday, they will not go down without a fight.
The bigger concern for the Thunder is finding a way to slow down Nikola Jokic. As mentioned, Jokic had an absurd stat line in Game 1 with 42 points and 22 rebounds. Further, he shot 15 of 29 from the field, so he was also extremely efficient.
Despite the loss in Game 1, Oklahoma City was the best home team in the league this season, so while there is a good chance that they will even this series, beating the Nuggets by 10+ is too much of a risk.
