Two of the top teams in the Western Conference clash Tuesday night at the Target Center when Denver heads to Minnesota. The two met previously earlier this season in Minnesota and the Timberwolves smacked the Nuggets 110-89. Anthony Edwards and Karl Anthony-Towns combined for 45 points while Naz Reid came off the bench to add 16 on 6-9 shooting. They held the Nuggets to just 18.2% shooting from beyond the arc and even won the rebounding battle. However, since their last meeting, Minnesota has lost Karl Anthony-Towns indefinitely and are coming off a game Monday night where Rudy Gobert was sidelined. If he is unable to go again here, the Nuggets will have the decided rebounding advantage this time. For Denver, they will look to continue their strong team first play as they lead the league in assist/turnover ratio and have 6 different players averaging double figures. They are nipping at the heels of the Oklahoma City Thunder for the #1 seed in the West which would be their goal heading into the playoffs as they look to repeat as NBA Champions. That said, it will be interesting to see how they bounce back after having their 5-game winning streak snapped Sunday in heartbreaking fashion by the Mavs.
