The Denver Nuggets and Milwaukee Bucks will face off on Thursday at the Pavilion in Las Vegas, Nevada, to kick off their Las Vegas Summer League campaigns.
Since the Nuggets didn’t have a pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. The Nuggets’ summer league team will rely on several undrafted rookies and journeymen spearheaded by DaRon Holmes II, who will try to impress in his second Summer League stint with Denver. Holmes, who was picked 22nd overall by the Phoenix Suns before being traded to the Nuggets on draft night, suffered a torn right Achilles tendon a year ago in his summer league debut, ending his season before playing his first NBA game. The Nuggets have flanked Holmes II with several intriguing prospects such as 2023 second-round pick Hunter Tyson, former Stanford sharpshooter Spencer Jones, and Missouri’s Tamar Bates.
The Bucks will parade two draft picks from the past two drafts: Tyler Smith (33rd overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft) and Bogoljub Markovic (47th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft). Milwaukee also brings prospects such as Jamaree Bouyea, Mark Sears, and NCAA champion Andre Jackson Jr., who was traded from Orlando in 2023. Markquis Nowell, the diminutive star point guard of the Kansas State Wildcats, will also suit up for the Bucks in this Summer League campaign.
