The Denver Broncos (12-3) are hoping to stay on top of the AFC standings and ultimately secure home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. On Thursday night, they will need to pick up yet another win over the Kansas City Chiefs (6-9), who will be playing spoiler for the first time in several years.
The Chiefs have lost both Patrick Mahomes and Gardner Minshew to torn ACLs and will likely be starting Chris Oladokun at QB. He was pressed into action last week when Minshew went down and completed 11 of his 16 assists but was unable to lead the Chiefs against the lowly Titans. Kansas City is not playing for anything, and the team in total looked disinterested last week.
Denver was riding an impressive 11-game winning streak as it faced the Jacksonville Jaguars last week. Trevor Lawrence and company took over Mile High and grabbed an impressive 34-20 win in Denver. The loss prevented the Broncos from controlling their own destiny in winning the next 2 games to clinch home-field advantage. Now they are one loss and one New England win away from seeing the Patriots take the top spot in the AFC.
Denver will need to shake off the rough game last week and finish off this hobbled Kansas City team to fend off the Patriots from catching them in the standings.

This game really should not be closed from the opening whistle. Outside of the Broncos committing a bunch of turnovers, we believe they will walk into Kansas City and take an easy win home with them. The Chiefs have looked disjointed all season, and now, with their 3rd string QB, we do not see the players getting up for this one. The Broncos are in a great bounce-back spot here and should cover by 2 touchdowns.
