Denmark and Sweden will kick off their 2025 UEFA Euro Championship campaign when they lock horns on Friday evening. Both teams will come into this tournament as underdogs to make it to the knockout rounds behind Germany. This will be a tricky opener for the Danes, who were thrashed 6-1 by their Scandinavian opponents at the UEFA Women’s Nations League. They’ll be desperate to get better results this time and set the stage for a do-or-die clash with Germany.
Sweden, meanwhile, is the favorite to play runners-up to Germany in the group. Some analysts even view them as the dark horses in this tournament because they tend to turn up during big international events. They reached the semifinals in their last three major tournaments and are coming off a strong Nations League outing, where they didn’t lose a match. It will be unsurprising if they reach the quarterfinals.
