Danielle Rose Collins of the United States and Liudmila Samsonova of Russia will square it off on Friday with the winner moving on to the final of the 2025 Strasbourg International.
Collins got a free pass to the semifinal round of the 2025 Strasbourg International after her supposed quarterfinal opponent, Anna Kalinskaya, withdrew from their match on Thursday. Collins, who improved her clay-court record to 6-2, had registered two gutsy wins over Sofia Kinen 6-1 1-6 6-2 and Emma Raducanu 4-6 6-1 6-3 in the first two rounds.
Samsonova hacked out a tough three-set win over Paula Badosa of Spain 6-4 3-6 6-4 to earn her spot in the semis. Samsonova landed 64 percent of her serves, winning 34 points off her first serves and capturing 5 breakpoints to outslug Badosa in an action-packed match. It marked Samsonova’s 4th win in 5 head-to-head matches against Badosa.
