The Dallas Stars (25-9-8, 13-3-5 Away) will try to get back on track Tuesday night when they visit the Carolina Hurricanes (25-14-3, 13-8-1 Home). The puck drops at the Lenovo Center in Raleigh, NC, at 7 p.m. EST with coverage provided by ESPN+.
With a 4-3 overtime loss to Montreal on Sunday, the Stars dropped their fifth game in a row. Four of the five games ended in 4-3 finals scores: one in regulation, two in overtime, and a shootout (the fifth was a 4-1 loss to Buffalo). They’ve been outscored during the losing streak 20-13. In the four wins prior to the losing streak, they outscored the opposition, 22-8. As for Carolina, the Hurricanes got back on the right side of the scoreboard with a 3-1 win over the Red Devils in New Jersey. Prior to it, they had lost their last three by a combined score of 17-9.
This will be the second time these two teams have played, with the first in Raleigh. The previous game was in Dallas on October 25, a 3-2 Stars win. After giving up two goals in the first period, Dallas scored three to pull ahead and record the win.

My first thought was to go with Dallas against the puck line since the Stars had been pretty competitive in four of five games during the losing streak. However, the price is not advantageous for bettors (-205). Because Dallas has been competitive, laying the points and taking Carolina is not recommended. That leaves the moneyline or TOTAL. I find the most value in the Dallas moneyline. They just need one or two more plays to go their way to get back on track.
