The Dallas Mavericks (17-26, 4-14 Away) will try to win their third game in a row for just the second time this season when they take on a slumping New York Knicks team at Madison Square Garden in the Big Apple. Tipoff for this contest is scheduled for 5 p.m. EST, with coverage provided by NBC.
Of course, getting that third consecutive win will be easier said than done, and not just because the Knicks are one of the better teams in the Eastern Conference. The Mavs have four players ruled out (Daniel Gafford, D’Angelo Russell, P.J. Washington, and Anthony Davis). To make matters worse, Cooper Flagg is listed as a game-time decision (GTD). However, these guys were not available for their last two games, in which the Mavs beat Utah, 138-120 and 144-122. As for the Knicks, New York has lost three in a row: 112-101 vs Sacramento, 126-113 vs. Golden State, and 106-99 vs. Phoenix. Jalen Brunson had to leave the game against Sacramento early in the first quarter and missed the other two losses. He is listed as a game-time decision along with Josh Hart.
This will be the second of two meetings this season between the Mavericks and Knicks. They last played on November 19 in New York, a game the Knicks won 113-111.
