As for Mavericks, they finished 12th in the Western Conference, missing the post season tournament. They did finish last season with a win over Chicago Bulls. Mavericks also won three and lost two of their five Summer Games matches, though they did win the last three games.
The Rockets are heavy favorites to win their 26/27 opener. Their record at home last season was impressive, with a 30-11 record. Mavericks were poor on the road and ended last season with a 10-30 record.
For our prediction, we're looking at the Rockets victory. We think it will be a comfortable victory at that, which is why we're going for Rockets -8.5 on the spread.
