For the Cowboys, the feeling heading into the new season is positive, even though they're coming off two consecutive seven-win regular-season games. They'll kick things off on the road against the Giants, in a rivalry where Dallas has recently dominated, winning 16 of the last 18 games, while Dak Prescott boasts a 14-3 career record against them.

The Giants have revamped their roster after a dismal 2015, starting with the most notable change: adding John Harbaugh as head coach. Jaxson Dart will be entering his second season as the Giants' quarterback after a somewhat inconsistent rookie season in which he also suffered numerous injuries. Also, although no longer the superstar he was in 2014, Odell Beckham Jr. has returned to the New York team and will play a secondary role as a wide receiver.

Cowboys defensive coordinator Parker said he wants his defenders to play with an element of aggression and physicality so the Giants don't set the tone. This is a team with significant defensive acquisitions; they've signed Von Miller and Quinnen Williams.
